A leading pre-K to 12 co-educational day and boarding school situated in the heart of Hobart, Australia, The Friends’ School is recognised not only for academic excellence but also for its provision of outstanding pastoral care at all levels of the school.
Situated on Australia’s southeast coast, the vibrant, diverse city of Hobart is a refreshing combination of the traditional and modern. The many waterfront cafes, restaurants and studios of Tasmania’s largest city nestle in centuries-old converted warehouses that overlook a beautiful harbour full of fishing boats and yachts.
Those keen to explore the cultural aspects of the region are sure to enjoy its active arts scene, while those eager to take in their surroundings and engage with the outdoors will enjoy the enviable climate and stunning scenery.
The Friends’ School provides outstanding accommodation for local and international students between Years 7 and 12 on a part or full-time basis at Walker House, our on-campus residence. All students have access to their own individual rooms, and may take advantage of the separate study and recreational spaces available on-site. At Walker House, we strive to maintain a caring ‘home away from home’, in which young men and women can enjoy fulfilling lives as part of a welcoming residential community.
